Floral design challenge Week 2: Fennel flower Arch

Each floral design challenge is designed to challenge my creativity and step out of my comfort zone.

This comes with its own set of challenges and learnings. Especially when working with sustainable mechanics. I'm learning to accept that things don't always go to plan. That's truly what this challenge is about.

Week 2: A Fennel flower arch

I'd been eyeing up the overgrown fennel bush in our garden for weeks and had been trying to figure out a way to incorporate it into a design. As you'll see below the fennel flower seriously stole the show and became the Whole design.

I wouldn't normally recommend using a flower-like fennel, purely for its tendency to wilt. Nonetheless, I decided to give it a go. Creating an "en-mass" arch.

p.s. Although I adore the vibrancy of this design and the shape the fennel flowers give, it's still not a flower I would recommend for events without a trusted water source.
