Each floral design challenge is designed to challenge my creativity and step out of my comfort zone.
This comes with its own set of challenges and learnings. Especially when working with sustainable mechanics. I'm learning to accept that things don't always go to plan. That's truly what this challenge is about.
Week 13: Taking it back to Basics the Japanese Art of Ikebana
I don't know if its the weather of the fact that Autumn is finally upon us but it feels like i've hit a bit of a creative block. Soo.... I decided to take it make to basics this week and create a design inspired by the Japanese art of ikebana.
Using locally grown roses and the seasons first camellia flower in one of my favourite vases from Griff.
On a side note, my mum returned from her trip to France this week and mentioned that my 75 year old grandpa has been obsessed with watching the weekly design challenge on Instagram. Although he doesn't understand a word he has downloaded the app and is a religious watcher every week. So I've translating the captions just for him.
