Each floral design challenge is designed to challenge my creativity and step out of my comfort zone.
This comes with its own set of challenges and learnings. Especially when working with sustainable mechanics. I'm learning to accept that things don't always go to plan. That's truly what this challenge is about.
Week 1: A sculptural Hydrangea installation
As you will notice throughout the year (if you choose to keep up with my floral antics) my inspiration is often drawn from nature itself and most often from what is available seasonally.
As we are currently in peek hydrangea season I couldn't think of a better time to feature these fluffy blooms. I love combining unusual colours and textures, to create unique shapes that feel alive.
Combining the deep purple hydrangea with the stark white gerbera daisy to create the asymmetrical design you see below.
I try to incorporate an "unexpected element" in all of my work, can you guess what it was this week??
